USL League Two released its divisional alignment for the 2026 season, outlining how clubs will be grouped across the expansive 158-team league. For the 2025 season, the league was structured into 144 teams, 4 conferences, and 19 divisions. The only change other than the amount of teams, was the addition of the newly established “Ranger Division”.

All the teams participating in this division are from North and West Texas, which is quite interesting. Travel should be less of an issue, and financial strain is expected to be reduced.

All teams in the Ranger Division are new to USL2 with exception of Denton Diablos FC, and McKinney Chupacabras who joined in the 2025 season. Lubbock, West Texas, and Fort Worth most recently played for the NPSL.

The close proximity of teams in the Ranger Division is expected to help build rivalries, increase fan excitement, and make travel to away matches easier. One of Texoma’s closest opponents is Denton Diablos FC, which won the 2021 NPSL championship in just their second NPSL season.

They emerged as an underdog during that championship run. However, the club was not able to replicate the same level of postseason success before joining USL2 in 2025.

The Diablos first season in USL2 was promising and they proved competitive in the division, ending with 7W-1D-4L narrowly missing the playoffs by just 4 points.

They should be a prove to be a competitive team, and a hard matchup for Texoma.

Internationally, Albritton has already gained valuable experience with Costa Rica’s national teams. In 2023, he scored twice for the U-17 squad as Los Ticos won their group at the CONCACAF U-17 Championship, which served as qualification for the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Indonesia. He later joined Costa Rica’s senior national team as a training player during the 2024 Copa América and is currently an active member of the country’s U-20 men’s national team.

Fort Worth Vaqueros are an interesting team. They’ve been staple of the NPSL since the teams debut season in 2014, with exception of the 2020 season, in which they participated in the “Roja League” - a league created to create a safe return to play during the Covid-19 Pandemic.

While they have historically finished near the bottom of the table or were eliminated in the opening round of the playoffs, 2025 marked their first postseason appearance since 2019. As they prepare to join USL League Two in 2026, the Vaqueros could enter the Ranger Division as underdogs.

Lubbock Matadors were founded in 2021 and are possibly the strongest team in the Ranger Division. They have found considerable success in only 4 years of history, reaching the final 8 in the 2025 NPSL season and fighting through their way to the third round of the U.S. Open Cup.

The Matadors are extremely competitive and are most likely the favorite in the division. It will prove to be a difficult matchup for Texoma given the distance, and strength of Lubbock.

The newest team in the division and also the closest travel wise for Texoma are McKinney Chupacabras FC. Entering only their second season ever as a team, they have surprisingly built an amazingly large community

driven fan base.

The Chupacabras first season went well all things considered. They finished 5th with 3W-1D-8L falling well short of a playoff run.

West Texas FC is the oldest team in the Ranger Division, having debuted in 2009 in USL as a developmental league side. They would eventually join the NPSL in the 2017 season, where they would stun everyone by making an incredible run to the NPSL National Championship game - losing 5-0. Since then, West Texas FC has achieved NPSL playoff contention every year with exception to the 2020 season, which was suspended due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and the 2022 season, where the team took a brief hiatus before returning in 2023.

West Texas FC should win the division. The club is seasoned, and extremely well-rounded. The strongest team in the division is also the furthest away from Texoma, which should prove to be arduous and challenging.

During the regular season, Texoma will play Denton, and McKinney 3 times each, and play Fort Worth, Lubbock, and West Texas twice each for a total of 12 games. At first glance, the schedule looks to be exhausting and strenuous, especially in that middle section.

Home games for Texoma will now be played in Munson Stadium in Denison, TX, just a few minutes north of their previous stadium.
