WAUWATOSA, Wisc. – RWB Adria Chicago booked its spot in the USASA Region II final with a dominant 4-0 win over FC Milwaukee Torrent on Tuesday evening at Hart Park.
Playing at home turf, Milwaukee failed to convert key chances, and RWB Adria capitalized with a clinical performance. The Chicago-based side struck twice in the first half and tacked on two more goals in the second half to advance.
The Michigan Rangers never trailed and defeated the Michigan Stars 3-1 Tuesday in the other regional semifinals match.
RWB Adria Chicago scored what proved to be the game-winner in just the fifth minute before adding a second goal in the 14th minute to eventually build a 2-0 halftime lead.
In the second half, RWB Adria Chicago added to its lead, scoring goals in the 50th and 80th minutes, respectively.
Defensively, RWB Adria Chicago shut down the Torrent to show them the exit from the United States Amateur Soccer Association annual cup tournament. RWB Adria has won three national championships in its history – 2011, 2013 and 2014.
RWB will face the Michigan Rangers side that is 4-0 in the tournament with a 9-2 scoring edge (see game recap at www.nationalsoccernetwork.com).
