It was a James Lee hat trick for the Augusta Arsenal SC to lift the hosts to a 4-2 win over the visiting UFA Lawrenceville side in USPL Premier Georgia South action last Sunday at the Augusta Soccer Park.
UFA started the match with just 11 players and their lone substitute arrived just after kickoff, making it a limited bench for the traveling side on a warm Sunday evening in Augusta. Both teams created a few chances in the first 30 minutes with the final touch just missing on both ends of the field to break the deadlock.
Just after the first half hydration break, the hosts jumped on a loose ball inside the UFA area and James Lee punished the mistake with the opening goal of the match for Arsenal in the 37th minute. The Lee shot bounced off the far post running across the goal mouth bouncing off the near post before trickling over the line in a wild pinball sequence.
With the score of 1-0 Arsenal at the half, UFA regrouped at the break and came out the more organized side from the break getting more numbers forward and pressing the Arsenal defense. This pressure resulted in two UFA goals both from Carlos Delarosa in the 55th and 65th minutes, putting the visitors ahead in the match. Carlos Delarosa was slipped a neat pass on the ground at the top of the Arsenal penalty box and the UFA player did the rest in dribbling into the area and depositing the ball into the far post for the game equalizer in the 55th minute.

Delarosa had his brace just minutes later in the 65th minute as he capitalized on some confusion across the Arsenal backline to pick the ball off an Arsenal defender and then go on a wild solo effort in the box dribbling the Arsenal keeper 1v1 to put the ball in the empty net for the 2-1 UFA advantage.
Arsenal had an immediate answer to the UFA goal the 67th minute as a free kick served into the UFA box was shot wide left but the hustle of Arsenal’s Alejandro Gonzalez kept the ball in play. Gonzalez then dribbled up the goal line and blasted a shot through the UFA keeper to level the match 2-2 from a tight angle.
In a repeat of the first half, UFA was slow to come out of the second half hydration break and Arsenal made them pay a second time after a hydration break as James Lee was first to run onto a ball played just behind the UFA backline. Lee poked the ball under intense pressure under the onrushing UFA keeper to put Arsenal back ahead 3-2 in the 78th minute.

Then just a minute later, Lee completed his hat trick collecting a square ball played across the UFA box, cutting sharp on his dribble, and then firing the ball through a crowded UFA goal mouth for the final 4-2 Arsenal victory.
The win moves Arsenal into fourth place in the conference standings with a record of 4W-2L-1T on 13 points. UFA falls to sixth in the table with a record of 2W-5L-0T on 6 points.
Arsenal will travel to UMA FC on May 31, while UFA Lawrenceville will host LSA Norcross on May 24 at 7 PM.
