UNOH Named 2025 WHAC Women’s Soccer Preseason Favorite

LIVONIA, Mich. — The Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) head coaches have voted the University of Northwestern Ohio (UNOH) as the preseason favorite for the 2025 women’s soccer season. It marks the Racers’ first selection as preseason No. 1 since 2020 and ends Aquinas’ three-year run atop the poll. Just two points and one first-place vote separated UNOH and Aquinas in one of the tightest races in recent memory.

UNOH Builds on Postseason Run

UNOH is coming off a strong 2024 campaign, finishing 14-4-4 overall with a 10-1-1 WHAC record. The Racers fell to Aquinas in the WHAC Championship on penalty kicks but secured an at-large bid to the NAIA National Championship. They advanced to the second round before being eliminated and now return a strong core eager to push even further in 2025.

Aquinas’ Unbeaten Legacy

Aquinas has set the standard in the WHAC over the last five years, winning five straight regular-season titles and three of the last four tournament championships. The Saints posted a 17-1-2 record in 2024, including an 11-0-1 mark in WHAC play, extending their unbeaten conference streak to 50 games dating back to 2020. The program also advanced to the NAIA National Championship Round of 16. This fall, Aquinas begins a new era under Interim Head Coach Jenna Smith, but will once again feature a proven core of returners.

Siena Heights Rounds Out Top Three

Siena Heights comes in third after a 13-2-4 season (9-1-2 WHAC). The Saints return six starters and welcome an impactful incoming class that could make them a dark-horse contender for 2025.

The WHAC women’s soccer season kicks off August 21, with league play beginning September 20. With UNOH and Aquinas nearly inseparable at the top, and Siena Heights pushing for more, the 2025 campaign promises another season of high drama and championship-level play.
