THE LEAGUE FOR CLUBS: FC Davis holds off Fuego U23; FC Davis remains perfect; Oakland SC rallies behind Bernier’s brace; San Ramon posts six-goal outburst

NOVATO,  Calif. – Napa Valley 1839 FC remained unbeaten Saturday. And it took nearly every available minute to do so.


Napa Valley 1839 FC scored the game-winning goal four minutes into stoppage time at the end of the second half to move to 5-0-0 on the campaign thanks to a 4-3 victory over CF San Rafael at Novato (Calif.) High School.


Dario Pavlion, who previously tied the game at 3-3 in the 70th minute with his first tally, converted a penalty kick in the final minutes to put his team up 4-3 and the Napa Valley defense closed out the last minute of stoppage time to preserve the victory. 


CF San Rafael (2-1-3) tied the game at 2-2 in the 35th minute on a goal by Rio Suendermann and went ahead at 3-2 in the 66th minute on a tally by Allan Estrada.


Jacob Tonkel (21st minute) and Luiz Ramirez (24th minute) also scored for Napa Valley 1839. Edinelson scored in the 11th minute for CF San Ramon. 


Napa Valley 1839 now owns a 21-7 scoring edge and moved into second place with 15 points with the narrow victory.


CF San Rafael slipped to 2-4-0 on the season. 


FC DAVIS 4, FUEGO U23 3: FC Davis remained atop of the table in the of The League For Clubs NorCal Conference with this win Saturday. FC Davis scored the game winner in the 91st minute. FC Davis now leads the group with a perfect 6-0-0 record for 18 points and also owns a 20-8 scoring edge this season. Fuego U23 owns a 19-10 scoring edge this year and fell to 4-2 on the season.


OAKLAND SC 2, RUSH SILICON VALLEY 1: The train otherwise known as Alexandre Bernier was back at it again Saturday night at Oakland Tech High School in Oakland, Calif. Bernier scored in both the 77th and 83rd minutes as Oakland SC rallied back from a 1-0 deficit and earn the West Region-NorCal Conference victory. Bernier now has a conference-best 11 goals on the season over six games. Oakland SC has now outscored the opposition 21-8 this season and moved into third place in the 12-team conference with a 4-1-1 overall record and 13 points. Anthony Moran scored in the 19th minute for Rush Silicon Valley (14-0), which has been outscored 12-5 this season.


SAN RAMON FC 6, YUBA FC 2: Yuba FC built an early 2-0 lead, but it was San Ramon FC that had the last laugh by closing out with a 6-0 run – four goals which came in the second half. Oewn Benson scored in the 37th and Braullio Maravilla tied the contest an the 44th minute. In  the second half, Alonso Fernandez got involved in the scoring act with the eventual game-winner in the 60th minute for a 3-2 lead and Edgar Casteneda pushed the advantage to 4-2 with a goal in the 67th minute. San Ramon added two late tallies with Benson netting his second goal in the 90th and Maravillo also recording the brace with the sixth goal in the 90th+4 to cap the scoring. San Ramon has outscored the opposition 19-13 and moved to 3-1-1 overall on the season and into fifth place with 10 points. Alan Gonzales scored in the eighth minute and Eli Bussey buried his opportunity in the 18th minute for Yuba FC (2-2-1), which led 2-0 early. Yuba FC has been outscored 16-15 this season and is tied in sixth place with seven points.


AFGHAN PREMIER FC 3, NORTH COAST FC SOL 0: There were many first recorded by Afghan Premier FC Saturday night in The League For Clubs play. APFC recorded its first win of the season in the West Region-NorCal Conference, recorded its first game where the scored more than one goal, and also posted its first clean sheet of the campaign. Afghan Premier FC moved to 1-3-0 on the season for three points to move into a three-way tie for eighth place in the 12-team division. Afghan Premier has been outscored 9-4 this season. North Coast FC Sol  slipped to 0-3-0 overall and has been outscored 10-3 this season. 


ALBION SC SILICON VALLEY 2, IRON ROSE FC 0: Albion SC Silicon Valley scored a goal in each half and post the road win Saturday over Iron Rose FC in a contest at West Park High School in Roseville, Calif. Albion SC recorded its second win and moved to 2-3-1 overall. The team has been outscored 14-9 this season but still moved into a sixth-place tie in the West Region-NorCal Conference. Iron Rose FC, which captured its first win of the campaign two weeks ago, has been outscored 11-4 this season and slipped to 1-3-0 overall.
