Men’s SoccerIndiana Tech 10, Rochester Christian 0(Rochester Hills, MI) — The Rochester Christian University men’s soccer team opened Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) play Saturday afternoon against No. 12 Indiana Tech. The nationally ranked Warriors erupted for eight first-half goals on their way to a 10-0 win.

The loss drops RCU to 1-6-0 overall and 0-1-0 in WHAC play, while Indiana Tech improves to 5-2-1 (1-0-0).

Kris Tauzik (1-6-0) made 11 saves on 21 shots faced in goal for the Warriors. Indiana Tech struck three times before the 16th minute and added five more before halftime. The visitors tacked on two more in the second half, including one just three minutes after the restart.


RCU generated a handful of chances, recording four total shots, two in each half.

Up Next: Rochester Christian returns to action Wednesday, Sept. 24, against Siena Heights at the Michigan Stars Soccer Complex. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.

Women’s SoccerRochester Christian 3, Indiana Tech 2(Rochester Hills, MI) — The Rochester Christian University women’s soccer team kicked off WHAC play with a statement win Saturday, defeating Indiana Tech 3-2 behind a pair of first-half goals from newcomers and a milestone tally from a senior leader.

RCU improves to 5-3-0 (1-0-0 WHAC), while Indiana Tech falls to 0-5-0.


Makenna Kennedy opened the scoring in the 12th minute, notching her first career RCU goal on an assist from Aliana Perez. Olivia Howes added her second goal of the week just seven minutes later, with Samantha Johns collecting the helper. Indiana Tech responded almost immediately, scoring 47 seconds later to trim the lead to 2-1.

Jenna Schodowski restored the cushion with a 31st-minute strike, also assisted by Johns, and it stood up as the eventual game-winner. Indiana Tech pulled within a goal in the 89th minute, but RCU held on for its first conference victory.

Brooklyn Perron (4-3-0) earned the win in net, making one save across 90 minutes.


Milestone Watch:

  • Senior forward Olivia Howes now sits at 28 career goals, one shy of Ashlin Taylor’s program record (2015–2018) since RCU joined the NAIA in 2011.

  • Schodowski’s goal tied the program mark for career game-winners with seven.
