SANDY, Utah — In front of a sell-out crowd of 21,512, Inter Miami CF (5W-1L-3D, 18 points) utilized a late offensive explosion to dismantle a disciplined Real Salt Lake defense. The victory pushes Miami’s road record to a league-best 16 points (5 wins, 1 draw, 1 loss) and maintains their second-place standing in the Eastern Conference.
Allen Makes History
While the scoreline grabbed the headlines, the night belonged to Homegrown defender Noah Allen. By starting the match, the Academy product reached 119 appearances across all competitions, surpassing goalkeeper Drake Callender for the most appearances in club history.
"It was a great and emotional match against a strong team," said head coach Guillermo Hoyos. "The players expressed themselves well... we have to thank them for the effort because they performed at a very high level."
Match Highlights: A Scoreless Grind Turns Electric
The first half was a tactical stalemate. Leo Messi created the most dangerous opportunity in the 22nd minute with a trademark left-footed strike that forced a diving save from RSL’s Rafael Cabral, but neither side could find the breakthrough before the interval.
The second half began with Inter Miami goalkeeper Dayne St. Clair keeping the clean sheet intact. In the 59th minute, the Canadian international denied a point-blank attempt from RSL's Alexandros Katranis to keep the game deadlocked.
The dam finally broke in the closing ten minutes:
82nd Minute: Midfielder Rodrigo De Paul provided the "stunner" of the night. Following a corner kick, Telasco Segovia (who now leads the team with five assists) found De Paul outside the box. "El Motorcito" took one touch and curled a long-range masterpiece into the top-right corner.
83rd Minute: Just 60 seconds later, second-half substitute Luis Suárez put the game to bed. "El Pistolero" showcased his legendary finishing by burying a powerful left-footed half-volley from just inside the box.
