MLIS Week 3: Toronto Sweeps Chicago; Rockford and Salt Lake City Earn Key Wins

CHICAGO, Ill. (Nov. 30, 2025) — Match Week Three in Major League Indoor Soccer (MLIS) concluded with a pair of victories for the Toronto Canadian Crusaders, while the Rockford Thunder and Salt Lake City Utah Uprising each picked up important wins.
Toronto traveled to Chicago for back-to-back matchups with the Chicago Mustangs, while the Las Vegas Turf Monsters made their league debut on the road against Salt Lake City. The Ft. Wayne Summit City Sentinels also visited Rockford but came up short in a tight contest.

Ft. Wayne vs. Rockford — Nov. 28
Rockford edged Ft. Wayne 6–5 in a tightly contested battle featuring multiple momentum swings. Ft. Wayne’s Lorenzo Cardoso opened the scoring before Santiago Patinho equalized for Rockford. Cardoso added another to give Ft. Wayne a 2–1 lead after the first quarter.
Rockford responded with four unanswered goals across the second and third periods to take a 5–2 advantage. Ft. Wayne rallied late with two goals in the third and a penalty-shot goal in the final minute, but Rockford’s earlier surge proved decisive.
Toronto vs. Chicago — Nov. 29
Toronto claimed an 8–5 victory on Saturday. Osman Hussein opened the scoring for Toronto before Chicago’s Eduardo Nava leveled the match. The lead changed hands several times, and the teams entered the fourth quarter tied 5–5.
Toronto dominated the final period with three unanswered goals, highlighted by a Raheem Rose hat trick, propelling the Crusaders to the win.
Toronto vs. Chicago — Nov. 30
Toronto completed the weekend sweep with a 6–5 victory in another close contest. Hussein again opened the scoring, followed by an immediate response from Chicago’s Gabriel Jurado. Both teams traded goals throughout the first three quarters.
Toronto surged ahead in the third with two more goals from Hussein and one from Leaford Allen. Chicago pushed back in the fourth, including a late penalty kick by Nava, but Toronto held firm to secure the one-goal win.
Las Vegas vs. Salt Lake City — Nov. 30
Salt Lake City earned a convincing 9–3 win in Sunday’s matchup. Jordan Peña put Salt Lake City ahead early before Luis Vargas equalized for Las Vegas. From there, Salt Lake City took control, netting three goals in the second quarter and continuing to extend their lead through the third and fourth periods.
Las Vegas added goals in the second and third periods, but Salt Lake City’s consistent pressure ensured a dominant season-opening victory.
