The Chattanooga Football Club looks to continue its blistering 10 game unbeaten run tonight when the squad travels to Canada to face Toronto FC II. Sitting in second place and enjoying the sort of mid-season form that has eluded them so far in MLS Next Pro, Chattanooga are looking to close their Summer account in flying colors, including a valuable away scalp. For the hosts, it’s a chance to stabilize. They’re coming off an impressive away win of their own, but sit way down in 12th and face a daunting task.

Toronto (P:21 W:8 D:3 L:10 SOW:1 GF:35 GA:40 GD:-6 Pts:28) earned a 4-2 win at Chicago Fire II on Monday afternoon. A first-half brace from Tristan Blyth combined with late strikes from Elias Khodri and Jahmarie Nolan got the job done at SeatGeek Stadium Nolan’s goal marked a club-leading 11th goal contribution of the season for the Jamaican striker (eight goals, three assists). A decent side, they have every reason to be confident, but a second game in just four days may prove too difficult for Gianni Cimini’s charges.

Under Richard Dixon, recently given the Head Coach role full-time after a lengthy interim period, they’re on a ten match unbeaten run. Star striker Alex Krehl scored the only goal in their most recent outing, a 1-0 home win over Atlanta United 2. Krehl thus jumped to second outright in the Golden Boot race and broke the club record for goals in a single MLS NEXT Pro season. This is the league’s most in-form and confident side.

This evening’s meeting will be the one and only game between Toronto and Chattanooga in 2026.

Overall. Chattanooga boasts the better record, with two wins from four, as well as a draw and resulting penalty shootout to its name. Toronto won the most recent meeting between them when they triumphed 2-1 at Finley Stadium last August. Chattanooga had opened the scoring late in the first half when Markus Naglestad (now retired) scored a volley off a Tate Robertson cross in the 45th minute. Toronto would rally immediately after halftime. Markus Cimermancic scored the equalizer in the 49th minute before Hassan Ayari (now a free agent) later completed the comeback.

The bookies have Chattanooga as the favorites tonight. They’re aggregating as slight favorites near 1.88 to 1.92 decimal odds, carrying a win probability closer to 43% to 47%.

Players to watch

Toronto II

Toronto’s (not-so-) secret weapon is Jahmarie Nolan. In February of this year, he was named as the Best Player Award of Concacaf Qualifiers, following a series of standout performances that helped Jamaica secure qualification to the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar this November. He delivered six direct goal contributions across the campaign, four goals and two assists, playing every match Jamaica played. Still only 16, Nolan joined Toronto in March 2025, and became the youngest player in club history to sign an MLS NEXT Pro contract. He is currently in his second season with the Young Reds, registering eight goals and three assists in 16 appearances. He made his competitive debut for Toronto’s senior team in May, playing in the first round of the Canadian Championship in a 3-1 loss to Atletico Ottawa.

Chattanooga

It can only be Alex Krehl. Against Atlanta on Sunday, he added his 13th goal of the season to take him into outright second place in the league's golden boot race behind Atlanta's Arif Kovac (15). The Illinois native was signed in February and most recently played for CD Lealtad in Spain, where he scored four goals across 18 appearances in the 2025-2026 Segunda Federación-Grupo I season. Prior to his time with CD Lealtad, Krehl was with CD Guadalajara in 2024-2025 when the club won the Segunda Federación-Grupo V regular season. Clearly, he has brought his prowess, earned in the competitive Iberian lower leagues, to Tennessee and has hit the ground running. A solid bet for a goal tonight.

Analysis and predictions

I’m taking a Chattanooga win in Ontario tonight. They’re in form, high on confidence and probably a better side currently than TFC II. In Alex Krehl they have the league’s second-most in-form striker and arguably the league’s best creative outlet in Tate Robertson behind him. 1-0 Chattanooga.
