Los Angeles Force Repeat as NISA Pro Cup Champions With Extra-Time Win Over Capo FC
WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (Oct. 21, 2025) — The Los Angeles Force proved once again why they’re the class of NISA, rallying late and dominating extra time to secure a 4–1 victory over Capo FC in Tuesday’s 2025 NISA Pro Cup Final.
After more than 70 minutes of tense, physical play, Los Angeles finally broke through in the 73rd minute when Michael Salazar pounced on a loose ball inside the box. The veteran forward struck it on the half-volley, driving it high into the top of the net to give the defending champions a 1–0 lead.
Capo’s hopes of a comeback were dealt a blow in the 80th minute when defender Michael Kariuki was shown a red card, leaving the Southern California side down a man. Still, Capo found an equalizer in the 86th minute as Daniel Moreno converted from close range to level the match at 1–1 and force extra time.
In the first extra-time period, Joel Quist took command for the Force. The Golden Boot contender scored twice in quick succession — first in the 96th minute, then again in the 100th on an assist from Bryan Ortega — to swing momentum firmly back to Los Angeles. Ortega then put the finishing touch on the title run with a goal in the 120th minute.
Quist’s two-goal performance earned him the Golden Boot as the tournament’s top scorer, while Force goalkeeper Mark Gamez claimed the Golden Glove for his outstanding play throughout the competition.
The result capped an unbeaten run for Los Angeles Force, who traveled more than 2,300 miles from home to successfully defend their crown — once again standing atop the NISA Pro Cup.
