The tournament’s disciplinary panel also issued fines and ruled that all suspensions must be served in future Leagues Cup editions until completed. Major League Soccer “reserves the right” to add further punishment, but none has been announced. ESPN.com
Additional sanctions from the postgame melee include two games for Miami midfielder Sergio Busquets, three games for defender Tomás Avilés, and five games for Seattle assistant coach Steven Lenhart for violating competition regulations. ESPN.com
Suárez, 38, apologized on social media, calling his actions “a mistake” and saying the moment “of tension and frustration” did not justify his reaction. Inter Miami said it condemns the altercations and is cooperating with Leagues Cup and MLS officials. Reuters
