The Des Moines Menace announced a landmark partnership with Drake University that will officially make Mediacom Stadium the club’s home venue for the 2026 USL League Two season, pending final league approvals. As part of the agreement, the Menace will establish a full-time operational presence on Drake’s campus from May through July, including training, competition, and day-to-day team operations.

The move marks a significant step forward for the organization. Mediacom Stadium’s modern design, professional-grade amenities, high-resolution video board, digital ribbon boards, and intimate seating bowl promise what the club believes will be the premier matchday experience in Iowa.

“This partnership is a tremendous step for our club,” said Kyle Davy, General Manager of the Des Moines Menace. “Mediacom Stadium offers a game-changing environment. Our players will train and compete in a setting that mirrors the professional ranks, and our fans will be closer to the action than ever before. Beyond the venue, we have a lot of new and exciting promotions, partnerships, giveaways, and more planned for 2026. It’s going to be a great summer, and we can’t wait to welcome our supporters to Mediacom Stadium this May.”

The collaboration extends beyond matchdays. Menace players and coaches will live, train, and prepare on Drake’s campus throughout the season, creating an integrated environment focused on high-level development and strong community connection.

Head Coach Charlie Latshaw III called the move a major milestone in raising the club’s standards.“Mediacom Stadium is one of the top — if not the top — soccer venues in the entire state,” Latshaw said. “Its setup and technology provide a true professional experience for our players. As we continue developing athletes for the next level, this is the ideal place to call home.”

Drake University leaders shared similar excitement, noting the partnership enhances year-round engagement at one of the region’s premier facilities.

“This partnership came together beautifully,” said Jay Brummel, Associate Athletics Director at Drake University. “Mediacom Stadium’s busiest stretch is during the academic year and capped off by the Boys High School State Soccer Tournament. Partnering with the Menace allows us to activate this incredible venue during its typical downtime. It’s a perfect example of a mutually beneficial relationship.”
