Dayton’s Dennis Currier Joins Inside the Game
SHELBY TWP, Mich. – One of the most respected figures in collegiate soccer, University of Dayton men’s head coach Dennis Currier, will be a guest on today’s episode of Inside the Game, presented by the National Soccer Network.
Now in his 21st season at the helm of the Flyers, Currier has built Dayton into a perennial Atlantic 10 contender. His résumé includes six conference tournament titles, six NCAA Tournament appearances, and multiple national rankings, including a program-best No. 16 in 2022. Along the way, his players have earned individual accolades at every level, from A-10 awards to MLS SuperDraft selections.
2024 campaign further cemented Dayton’s reputation as a program on the rise. The Flyers finished 14-3-3, won the Atlantic 10 Tournament title, and advanced to the NCAA’s third round before bowing out to SMU. Currier also celebrated two MLS draft picks in January as Geni Kanyane (Chicago Fire, No. 63) and Joseph Melto Quiah (Toronto FC, No. 69) were selected, marking the second straight year UD placed players on draft boards.
Since arriving in Dayton in 2005, Currier has delivered consistency and excellence, guiding the Flyers to more than a decade of postseason berths, developing professional talent such as Lalas Abubakar and Kingsford Adjei, and establishing Baujan Field as one of the toughest home environments in the Atlantic 10. His career record now tops 300 wins, placing him among the most accomplished active head coaches in Division I.
Beyond the numbers, Currier has maintained a strong emphasis on academic success and community connection, with his teams regularly honored for classroom performance and volunteer service in the Miami Valley.
Today, Inside the Game dives into Currier’s journey, his vision for the Flyers, and the continued growth of college soccer in the Midwest.
