Chris Fox Joins Inside the Game After Building Momentum at Bowling Green
(Shelby Twp, MI) – Inside the Game, presented by the National Soccer Network, welcomes Bowling Green State University women’s soccer head coach Chris Fox as a special guest. Entering his second season at the helm of the Falcons, Fox brings with him a résumé built on turnarounds, culture shifts, and a vision for sustained success in collegiate soccer.
Fox, who took charge at BGSU ahead of the 2024 campaign, made an immediate impact in his first year. The Falcons finished 7-7-4 overall and 4-4-3 in Mid-American Conference play, extending the program’s streak of MAC Tournament appearances to eight straight seasons—the longest active run in the league. At home, BGSU thrived with a 4-1-3 record at Cochrane Stadium. Four Falcons earned All-MAC honors, while six student-athletes earned Academic All-District recognition and 13 landed on the Academic All-MAC Team, highlighting Fox’s emphasis on both performance and academic excellence.
Before arriving in Bowling Green, Fox orchestrated a remarkable revival at Morehead State. In just two seasons, he guided the Eagles from a program struggling for wins to an OVC Tournament title and NCAA Tournament berth in 2023, earning OVC co-Coach of the Year honors. His sides combined possession-based soccer with defensive discipline, leading to the program’s best record in nearly a decade.
Fox’s coaching journey also includes a pivotal role in High Point University’s rise to national prominence. As an assistant and later associate head coach, he helped the Panthers capture multiple Big South titles, earn NCAA Tournament berths, and climb to unprecedented heights in national rankings. His track record of recruiting and developing talent includes players who went on to sign professional contracts in Europe.
A native of Stone, Staffordshire, England, Fox carries a deep coaching pedigree that stretches from collegiate sidelines to club soccer. He holds a U.S. Soccer National “B” License and a Premier License with United Soccer Coaches, underscoring his commitment to professional development and tactical excellence.
As he prepares to lead BGSU into his second season, Fox continues to emphasize culture, player development, and a style of play that is both organized and ambitious. His presence on Inside the Game will provide fans an opportunity to hear firsthand about his philosophy, the Falcons’ goals, and how he is positioning BGSU women’s soccer to contend for championships in the years ahead.
