The American Premier Soccer League (APSL) has officially announced the launch of the Mitten Conference, a new Michigan-based competition designed to expand elite amateur soccer opportunities across Greater Detroit, Lansing, and Grand Rapids.

Built by Michigan soccer leaders for Michigan clubs, the Mitten Conference operates under a locally managed, member-driven model that emphasizes long-term sustainability, accessibility, and competitive integrity. Participating clubs will benefit from low annual dues, United States Soccer Federation (USSF) affiliation, and a clearly defined pathway to both regional and national competition within the APSL structure.

The conference is designed to support growth at every level of the game, connecting grassroots ambition with a structured progression toward regional playoffs and national championship opportunities. By blending national league standards with local leadership, the Mitten Conference provides Michigan-based clubs with the opportunity to compete on a larger stage while maintaining strong community roots.

From local fields to regional and national postseason play, the Mitten Conference represents the next chapter in Michigan’s evolving soccer landscape.

The spring half of the 2025–26 APSL season is scheduled to begin in late March or early April, marking the official start of the conference’s inaugural campaign.
