ALABAMA: AHSAA Releases First 2026 Regular Season Soccer Rankings

he Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) coaches have released the first soccer rankings of the 2026 regular season, highlighting several early-season risers across classifications.


Since the preseason poll, multiple programs have surged into the No. 1 spot. Florence climbed from No. 6 in the preseason to lead Class 7A boys, while Homewood jumped from No. 4 to No. 1 in Class 6A girls. James Clemens (Class 7A girls) and Donoho (Classes 1A-3A girls) each moved from No. 3 to claim the top ranking in their respective classifications.


St. Michael’s Catholic moved up one spot to No. 1 in Class 5A girls, and St. Luke’s also advanced one position to take over the top ranking in Class 4A girls.


The 2026 AHSAA season officially began Feb. 5. Postseason play will start April 23 for Class 5A and 6A teams, with the state tournament scheduled for May 6-9 in Huntsville.
